A Few Words About Us

Climate change continues to threaten public health, food systems, livelihoods, and social stability across Africa through floods, droughts, rising temperatures, and environmental degradation. The African Coalition of Communities Responsive to Climate Change (ACCRCC) works to strengthen climate resilience by promoting sustainable climate action, mental health support, food security, conflict resolution, and community wellbeing. Learn About Us

ACCRCC is a Pan-African organization dedicated to tackling the effects of climate change on society, the environment, and public health. In order to create resilient systems that safeguard vulnerable groups while advancing sustainability and human dignity, we collaborate with communities, civil society organisations, governments, development partners, and scholars.

Aims & Objectives

Aims

As a Pan-African entity, ACCRCC advocates for the inclusion of:

  • Mental health
  • Conflict resolution
  • Population health
  • Nutritional management
  • Climate resilience

Objectives

Promoting climate-responsive laws and policies is essential to addressing climate change in Africa. Increasing community resilience against food scarcity, droughts, and floods and including public health, nutrition, and mental health into climate action strategies are important undertakings. Additionally, it is important to support climate-smart agriculture and sustainable livelihoods, as well as to increase the involvement of disadvantaged groups and empower women in climate resilience initiatives. Initiatives for disaster risk reduction, conflict resolution, and climate adaptation, as well as research and teaching on climate change and community resilience, are crucial.
